Paul Thornton - Guitar

Picking up the guitar at the late age of 15, Paul worked hard through college to earn music theory and guitar grades, which helped him gain a place at Salford University on the BA Popular Music and Recording course. He studied guitar with freelance guitar player and local legend Glenn Cartlidge, who subsequently introduced him onto the local theatre scene.

From then on, Paul has since played guitar in dozens of musical productions and played with many fantastic musicians. Paul has even ventured on a full UK tour with P.J. Proby on the "Ring Of Fire" - a Johnny Cash songbook tour in late 2006.

As well as performing, Paul currently teaches guitar for Bolton Music Service, working with over 200 students every week.  His playing style covers many genres, taking inspiration from players as diverse as Brian May, Chet Atkins, Steve Vai, Gary Moore, Tommy Emmanuel, Django Reinhardt, Robben Ford, Larry Carlton et al.
